You can search this collection against your favorite prokaryotic proteins to identify their function using the <a href=\"http:\/\/eddylab.org\/software\/hmmer\/Userguide.pdf\">HMMER<\/a> sequence analysis package.<\/p>\n<h5>What’s new?<\/h5>\n<p>The 12.0 release contains:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>15,849 HMMs maintained by NCBI<\/li>\n<li>271 new HMMs since release 11.0<\/li>\n<li>1,248 HMMs with better names, EC numbers, <a href=\"http:\/\/geneontology.org\/\">Gene Ontology<\/a> (GO) terms, gene symbols or publications<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>You can search and view the details for these in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/protfam?utm_source=ncbi_insights&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=hmm-release-12-20230424\">Protein Family Model<\/a> collection, which also includes conserved domain architectures and BlastRules, and find all <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/refseq\/?utm_source=ncbi_insights&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=hmm-release-12-20230424\">RefSeq<\/a> proteins these name.<\/p>\n<p>GO terms associated with HMMs are now propagated to CDSs and proteins annotated with PGAP.
