2	This SyH-DR Data Dictionary is a catalog of all variables in the SyH-DR claims files. Below is an overview of the included contents. (Note: Variables in the SyH-DR provider files are not included.)

12	Data Dictionary Field	Description
13	Variable Label	The descriptive label assigned to the variable that is displayed in the SyH-DR data file column headers.
14	Variable Name	The operative variable name in the SyH-DR data files that conforms to programmatic naming conventions.
15	Medicare File	A shaded cell containing an "X" indicates that the variable is present in the Medicare file(s).
16	Medicaid File	A shaded cell containing an "X" indicates that the variable is present in the Medicaid file(s).
17	Commercial File	A shaded cell containing an "X" indicates that the variable is present in the Commercial file(s).
18	Variable Type	Indicates whether the variable contains character ("CHAR") or numeric ("NUM") values.
19	Variable Length	Indicates the stored number of bytes for the variable values, regardless of formatting.
20	Variable Format	Describes the SAS format of the variable which determines how the values are displayed (e.g., DOLLAR(32.2), MMDDYY12, NUM(1)).
21	Synthesized	Indicates whether the variable is fully, partially, or not synthetic.
22	Masked	Indicates whether original unique values have been replaced in the SyH-DR data files.
23	Suppressed (DID)	Indicates whether values were altered for certain categories of observations to reduce disclosure risk.
24	Note / Rule	A brief description of the suppression rule or other information relevant to the variable (e.g., "No data for Medicaid Inpatient file").
