- Identified EPRI [Emergency Preparedness Resource Inventory Tool] as the emergency resource tool of choice based on the following criteria:
- No cost while existing contracts are in place.
- Windows based.
- Remote (internet) hosted.
- Ability to back up information and hosting site redundancy.
- Password protected with various user levels.
- Strong reporting capabilities for all disciplines.
- NIMS (National Incident Management System) compliant.
- Customizable and able to integrate with various file types.
- Open ended infrastructure for mapping tie-ins.
- Free tech support while under contract.

EPRI was selected by the NECO [Northeast Central Ohio] region as the tool of choice because there was little to no cost involved for a Windows-based product. It is currently remote hosted with the hosting site having several sites across the U.S. It is password protected at various levels, and it has strong reporting capabilities. All pre-defined resources are NIMS-compliant, and it has the ability to integrate with various file types. Free tech support is also included.
