<p>The minimum weekly spouse's pension is <abbr class="spell">EC</abbr>$46.40.</p>
|
|
<p>The maximum weekly spouse's pension is <abbr class="spell">EC</abbr>$493.28.</p>
|
|
<p>If the <span class="nobr">widow(er)</span> is entitled to receive an <span class="nobr">old-age</span> or disability pension and a spouse's pension, the total amount received is 100% of the <span class="nobr">old-age</span> or disability pension plus 50% of the spouse's pension.</p>
|
|
<p><span class="h5">Orphan's pension:</span> 25% of the <span class="nobr">old-age</span> or disability pension the deceased received or was entitled to receive is paid for each eligible orphan; 50% for an orphan with a disability or a full orphan.</p>

<p>The minimum weekly orphan's pension is <abbr class="spell">EC</abbr>$19.70.</p>

<h3>Qualifying Conditions</h3>
|
|
<p><span class="h4">Cash sickness benefit (social insurance):</span> Must be aged 16 to 59, have been employed on the day before the incapacity began, and have at least 13 weeks of contributions, including eight weeks of contributions as an employee in the 13 weeks before the incapacity began. The incapacity for work must last at least four consecutive days.</p>
|
|
<p><span class="h4">Cash sickness benefit (employer liability):</span> Must have been employed for at least 12 consecutive months with the same employer and provide a medical certificate from a registered medical practitioner stating the nature and expected duration of incapacity. The employee is eligible for sickness benefits up to five times a year.</p>
|
|
<p><span class="h4">Cash maternity benefit (Maternity Allowance, social insurance):</span> Paid to an insured woman aged 16 to 59 with at least 30 weeks of contributions, including 20 weeks of paid contributions in the 30 weeks immediately preceding the week that is six weeks before the expected date of childbirth or the week in which the claim is made, whichever is later.</p>
|
|
<p><span class="h4">Cash maternity benefit (employer liability):</span> Must have worked at least 18 months with the same employer (105 days in the last 18 months for an employee who is paid daily).</p>
|
|
<p><span class="h4">Maternity grant (social insurance):</span> Paid to an insured woman or the insured husband of an uninsured woman. The insured must be aged 16 to 59 and have at least 50 weeks of paid contributions.</p>
|
|
<h3>Sickness and Maternity Benefits</h3>
|
|
<p><span class="h4">Sickness benefit (social insurance):</span> 65% of the insured's average weekly covered earnings in the 13 weeks before the incapacity began is paid from the first day of incapacity for up to 26 weeks; for up to 52 weeks with at least 150 weeks of paid or credited contributions, including at least 75 weeks in the last three years.</p>
|
|
<p>There is no minimum sickness benefit.</p>
|
|
<p>The maximum daily sickness benefit is <abbr class="spell">EC</abbr>$125.</p>
|
|
<p><span class="h4">Sickness benefit (employer liability):</span> 100% (35% if receiving a social insurance sickness benefit) of the employee's wages is paid for up to two months. Benefits may be extended based on a medical report of a medical practitioner.</p>

<p><span class="h4">Maternity benefit (Maternity Allowance, social insurance):</span> 65% of the insured's average weekly covered earnings in the 30 weeks before the start of the benefit is paid for up to 12 weeks, beginning up to six weeks before the expected date of childbirth.</p>
