I think it can be a lot better to go to the local social security office and make the changes needed.

I am owed a large sum of money which would pay my bills and keep me in a place to live. Would pay my electric to keep my insulin safe. Why am I being pushed to the side for everyone else. Am I just to die off while others get to live is my family to suffer so others can live happy. Someone please tell me why I am to die so all these others can go on living the good life.

Not sure if you are aware but this is a semi-public blog and probably should not post personal info as you did, since anyone viewing this page can read it.

Here’s another interpretation: “It is crucial to understand that this will only affect Social Security overpayments occurring after that date. Overpayments prior to March 27 will maintain the 10% retention rate established in 2024 for ‘incorrect’ payments. Additionally, the retention rate for overpayments made to Supplemental Security Income (SSI) beneficiaries will remain at 10%.”

Senator Biden voted for it. Reagan didn’t sign an executive order. Bipartisan.

SSA would take the payments from the early retirement too. Remember that SSA (social security administration) handles several different programs: SSR (sometimes used) the traditional social security retirement insurance program; SSDI (social security disability insurance); and SSI (supplementary security income). Overpayments can happen in any of these programs and since SSA administers all of them, they can just shift the repayments to whichever one a person is accessing–even if the original overpayment happened when the person was accessing a different program.
