<p><a href="//www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/">NCBI</a> has enhanced <a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK53595/">My Bibliography</a> and <a href="//www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK53590/#collections.Storing_PubMed_Records_in_Ot">Other Citations</a> to include the following two improvements: a search and select tool to add citations from PubMed and an option to add citations in bulk using files that have citations in the <a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK3827/table/pubmedhelp.T.medline_display/?report=objectonly">MEDLINE</a> or <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RIS_%28file_format%29">RIS</a> (Research Information Systems) format. These features were developed to help you manage your My Bibliography and Other Citations collections allowing you to add PubMed citations directly in My Bibliography and Other Citations collections, and to upload citations in bulk using a file, which is especially useful if your publications are not present in PubMed.</p>

<p><strong>Adding PubMed Citations in My Bibliography and Other Citations</strong> <br />
|
|
After signing in to My NCBI, to access My Bibliography, click “Manage My Bibliography” (see <a href="#fig1">Figure 1</a>). For Other Citations, in the Collections portlet, click “Other Citations” (see <a href="#fig1">Figure 1</a>).</p>

<p>On the My Bibliography or Other Citations page, click “Add from PubMed” (see <a href="#fig2">Figure 2</a>) to deploy the search and select PubMed citations tool. Enter an author full name, or last name and initials in the search box, and click “Search PubMed” (see <a href="#fig3">Figure 3</a>). </p>

Select the citations you wish to add to your My Bibliography or Other Citations collection and click “Add to My Bibliography.” Close the window and the newly added citations will immediately display in your chosen collection (see <a href="#fig4">Figure 4</a>).</p>

<p><strong>Adding Citations in Bulk Using a File</strong> <br />
|
|
After signing in to My NCBI, to access My Bibliography, click “Manage My Bibliography” (see <a href="#fig1">Figure 1</a>). For Other Citations, in the Collections portlet, click “Other Citations” (see <a href="#fig1">Figure 1</a>). On the My Bibliography or Other Citations page, click “Upload a file” (see <a href="#fig5">Figure 5</a>) to upload a file that has citations in either the <a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK3827/table/pubmedhelp.T.medline_display/?report=objectonly">MEDLINE</a> or <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RIS_%28file_format%29">RIS</a> format.</p>

<p>Afterward, a confirmation message indicates the number of citations added to your My Bibliography or Other Citations collection (see <a href="#fig6">Figure 6</a>). </p>

<p>In the cases where a file has citations in a format other than MEDLINE or RIS, a message indicates that the citation file format is not supported by My NCBI (see <a href="#fig7">Figure 7</a>).</p>
