The Entrez DTDs have been updated and will be in production tomorrow,
|
|
December 14. An outline of the changes is available below.

NLMMedline DTD
|
|
a. Changed entity reference from "nlmmedlinecitation_031101.dtd" to:
|
|
"nlmmedlinecitation_041101.dtd"
|
|
b. Changed external entity from MedlineID.Ref to NlmDcmsID.Ref
|
|
|
|
NLMMedlineCitation DTD
|
|
a. Changed entity reference from "nlmsharedcatcit_031101.dtd" to:
|
|
"nlmsharedcatcit_041101.dtd"
|
|
b. Added ReprintIn and ReprintOf to CommentsCorrections element.
|
|
c. Added values MEDLINE and OLDMEDLINE to the Status internal entity
|
|
d. Added attribute PubModel to Article element.
|
|
e. Added PubModel and its values to internal entity List.
|
|
f. Changed element from MedlineID to NlmDcmsID.
|
|
g. Removed NCT value from Source internal entity.
|
|
**It is possible that we may need to add another valid value for the Source
|
|
attribute associated with the OtherID element found in NLMSharedCatCit DTD.

NLMSharedCatCit DTD
|
|
a. Changed entity reference from "nlmcommon_031101.dtd" to:
|
|
"nlmcommon_041101.dtd"
|
|
b. Added optional Prefix attribute to OtherID element.
|
|
|
|
NLMCommon DTD
|
|
The following changes were made in the nlmcommon_041101.dtd:
|
|
a. Deleted JournalIssue attribute of PrintYN.
|
|
b. Changed ElectronicPubDate element and its attribute OfficialDateYN to
|
|
ArticleDate element and its attribute DateType.
|
|
c. Added attribute Valid YN to Author element
|
|
|
|
The most substantive changes to the suite of MEDLINE DTDs that affect the
|
|
XML distribution are:
|
|
1. MEDLINE and OLDMEDLINE records formerly distributed in Completed status
|
|
will be distributed in MEDLINE or OLDMEDLINE MedlineCitation status
|
|
2. the true spelling of Author names will be indicated through use of the
|
|
ValidYN attribute with the Author element (some published author names have
|
|
been corrected by the publishers and NLM retains both versions in the
|
|
record)
|
|
3. the publishers' model of publishing will be indicated through use of the
|
|
new attribute PubModel on the Article element (e.g., Print,
|
|
Print-Electronic, Electronic, or Electronic-Print)
|
|
4. the various publishing dates that may be associated with an article will
|
|
be indicated through use of the ArticleDate element and its attribute
|
|
DateType.
