<h2>PubMed Abstract Display Modified for Supplementary Concepts</h2>
|
|
|
|
<p>The MeSH Vocabulary includes nearly 200,000 records known as the Supplementary Concept Records (SCRs). Until recently these were primarily records for drugs and substances plus a small percentage of protocols. Beginning with 2011 MeSH, SCR records will also include disease terms that are not MeSH headings as explained in the forthcoming article, <a href="/pubs/techbull/nd10/nd10_mesh.html"><em>What's New for 2011 MeSH<span class="registered">®</span></em></a>. <em><a name="note"> [Editor's</a> Note: This article was published on December 10, 2010.</em>]

<p>PubMed will display SCR terms in the expandable section for supplemental information of the Abstract format as follows:

Chemicals and substances will continue to display under the header, Substances.

</li>

|
|
|
<li>Protocols and disease terms will display under the new header, <strong>Supplementary Concepts</strong>.

<p>All SCRs will display on the MEDLINE format with the RN field tag.</p>
