<PRE>PubMed Central (PMC) and PubMed will be extending the NIH Preprint Pilot<<A HREF="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/about/nihpreprints/">https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/about/nihpreprints/</A>> beyond NIH-supported research on COVID-19 starting the week of January 30, 2023. During this second phase of the pilot, any preprint acknowledging direct support of an NIH award, contract, or intramural program and posted to bioRxiv, medRxiv, arXiv, or Research Square, on or after January 1, 2023, will automatically be included in PMC with associated citation information in PubMed. New preprint records will be added on a weekly basis.

These preprint records will also be available in machine-readable formats through E-utilities/APIs and the PMC Open Access Subset<<A HREF="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/tools/openftlist/">https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/tools/openftlist/</A>> (as license terms allow). Preprint records can be identified by publication type and related unique identifier (UI) in PubMed (<PublicationType UI="D000076942">Preprint</PublicationType>) and article version status in PMC (<article-version article-version-type="status">preprint</article-version>). You can exclude preprint records by appending your query string with "NOT preprint[pt]" in PubMed or "NOT preprint[filter]" in PMC.
