Starting in January 2025, GEO will no longer accept SAGE submissions.
|
|

This page contains deposit recommendations, instructions and a template specific to
|
|
traditional (Sanger Sequencing) SAGE submission deposits. For instructions on submitting
|
|
data from next-generation sequencing instead, please refer to the
|
|
<a href="/geo/info/seq.html">Submitting high-throughput sequence data</a> page.
|
|
The following recommendations describe what we believe is the easiest batch
|
|
deposit method for the majority of researchers, but keep in mind that SAGE
|
|
data may be submitted to GEO using any of the deposit options described on the
|
|
<a href="/geo/info/submission.html">Submitting data</a> page.
|
|

|
The <a href="/geo/info/spreadsheet.html">GEOarchive</a> spreadsheet-based submission method is recommended for SAGE deposits.
|
|
With this submission option, you provide the following components:
|
|
</p>
|
|

|
<li>
|
|
A Metadata worksheet containing descriptive information and protocols for the overall
|
|
experiment and individual libraries.
|
|
</li>
|
|
<li>
|
|
One processed data file for each SAGE library included in your Metadata worksheet.
|
|
Files should be tab-delimited text files containing TAG (sequence) and COUNT (number
|
|
of times each tag is detected) columns only. Include all tags, including those with counts
|
|
of 1.
|
|

|

|
|
<h2>SAGE GEOarchive templates and examples</h2>
|
|
<p>
|
|
The SAGE GEOarchive spreadsheet consists of 3 worksheets: a Metadata template, a Metadata example,
|
|
and an example of a formatted processed data file. Click the tabs at the bottom of the worksheet
|
|
window to switch between worksheets. Guidelines for the content of each field are provided on
|
|
the worksheets.

Bundle all components (Excel Metadata spreadsheet and processed data text files) together into a

|
.zip, .rar, or .tar archive using a program like WinZip, and transfer to GEO using the <a href="https://submit.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/geo/submission/">Submit to GEO</a> page. Incomplete submissions will result in processing delays.
