<strong><font size="4">Learning Station</font></strong> provides classroom or media-center activities that incorporate primary sources and multi-sensory materials from the <em>Once and Future Web</em> exhibition. The online activities are student-directed explorations while the classroom activities are teacher-guided. Either activities promote students' understanding of the impact of technology development in our society; stimulating their critical thinking and writing abilities; and applying what they have learned with the telegraph and Internet to other technologies.</font><br /><br />

Experience and enjoy the stories, images, and artifacts in this virtual exhibition with the following online activities. And evaluate historical events and discover the influences of the telegraph and the Internet in society.<br /><br />

<li><font class="bodycopy"><a href="onlineactivities/meet_innovators.html">Meet the Innovators</a> who played key roles in developing the concepts and technologies behind the telegraph and the Internet, such as Samuel F. B. Morse, J. C. R. Licklider, Leonard Kleinrock, and Larry Roberts.</font></li>
