<p>The Network of the National Library of Medicine (NNLM) invites you to join the thirteenth cohort of <a href="https://www.nnlm.gov/training/class-catalog/bioinformatics-and-biology-essentials-librarians-databases-tools-and">Bioinformatics and Biology Essentials for Librarians: Databases, Tools, and Clinical Applications</a>.
|
|
<p>This 14-week, self-paced online class reviews basic biology concepts and provides hands-on experience with National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) molecular biology databases.</p>
|
|
|
|
<p>This class is designed for librarians who offer, or intend to offer, bioinformatics services; as well as librarians who use gene and protein information on a periodic or irregular basis to serve their patrons. Participants who successfully complete the class are invited to join an alumni forum that includes discussion and additional learning opportunities.</p>
|
|
|
|
<p>Expect to spend at least 30 hours working through this class over a three-month period.
|
|
|
|
<p/>

|
<p>Subject matter experts for this course include staff scientists from NCBI, Majda Valjavec-Gratian, PhD and Wayne Matten, PhD.<p/>
|
|
