<p class="heading2">Purpose</p>
|
|
<p>This Notice informs the community that we have reached our goal to open up ASSIST as an option for the preparation, submission and tracking of all single-project grant applications to NIH (<a href="https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-15-044.html">NOT-OD-15-044</a>). </p>
|
|
<p>Throughout 2015, ASSIST support expanded to a variety of grant programs according to a defined <a href="https://grants.nih.gov/grants/ElectronicReceipt/files/Timeline_for_Single-Project_ASSIST_Support.pdf">timeline</a> which is now complete. </p>
|
|
<p>ASSIST is now an option for:</p>
|
|
<ul>
|
|
<li>all single and multi-project, competing grant applications;</li>
|
|
<li>single-project administrative supplements;</li>
|
|
<li>single-project, post-award successor-in-interest (type 6) requests; and </li>
|
|
<li>single-project, post-award change of institution (type 7) requests.</li>
|
|
</ul>
|
|
<p>Funding opportunity announcements posted in the <a href="https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/index.html">NIH Guide for Grants & Contracts</a> that allow ASSIST as an option contain an "Apply Online Using ASSIST" button in addition to the "Apply Using Downloadable Forms" button. </p>
|
|
<p>Use of ASSIST is optional; Grants.gov downloadable forms and institutional system-to-system solutions remain viable alternatives for application preparation and submission to NIH (<a href="https://grants.nih.gov/grants/ElectronicReceipt/preparing.htm#2">learn more about options</a>). </p>
|
|

<p>ASSIST provides users:</p>

<li>Secure web-based data entry</li>
|
|
<li>Control over application access</li>
|
|
<li>Collaboration of multiple users</li>
|
|
<li>Pre-submission validation of many NIH and Grants.gov business rules</li>
|
|
<li>Pre-population of data from eRA Commons profiles</li>
|
|
<li>Pre-submission print/preview of application in NIH format</li>
|
|
<li>Submission status tracking for both Grants.gov and eRA Commons within a single system</li>
|
|
<li>Ability to import subaward budget forms</li>
|
|
<li>Ability to copy application data from a previously prepared application</li>
|
|
</ul>
