NCBI Minute: New version of E-utilities supports accession.version identifiers

This webinar will describe and demonstrate new functionality NCBI recently introduced to the E-utilities to support retrieval of sequence data. In the past, the E-utilities used GI numbers as identifiers for sequence records, but now can accept and return accession.version identifiers as well. Among other benefits, this allows, for the first time, the E-utilities to retrieve WGS and TSA records that do not have GI numbers. We will discuss how these new operations function, best practices for their use, and strategies for navigating this expanded world of sequence data.
