We anticipate updating the PubMed E-Utility DTDs for 2012 in mid-December, approximately on December 12, 2011.

DTD and XML Changes for the  2012 Production Year


 1.  Changes to NLMMedlineCitationSet DTD AND MEDLINE/PubMed XML
The DTD changes for the 2012 production year are itemized in the Revision Notes section near the top of the DTD<http://www.nlm.nih.gov/databases/dtd/nlmmedlinecitationset_120101.dtd>. The following describes the one substantive change to NLMMedlineCitationSet DTD and MEDLINE/PubMed XML:

    *   Accommodating keywords from the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
A new valid value, HHS, is added to the Owner attribute of the element KeywordList. This value will be used to identify Keywords that are supplied to NLM under HHS initiatives. We do not have immediate plans to use this value; it is a placeholder for possible future use. Note that until now Keywords resided only on records in the OLDMEDLINE subset (CitationSubset = OM) and on records created by NLM collaborating data partners. In the future, Keywords may reside on any record.
