[Utilities-announce] Discontinuation of the MEDLINE UI

Currently PubMed MEDLINE citations include both a unique PubMed UI (PMID)
and a MEDLINE UI (MUID). 

The MEDLINE UI will be discontinued on PubMed citations in 2004. Therefore
the MUID will no longer display on web PubMed in the MEDLINE and XML display
formats or be returned in PubMed ESummary and EFetch records.

The first phase to discontinuing the MUID will be to switch the positions of
the UI and PMID fields on all MEDLINE display citations so the PMID displays
first, e.g.,

PMID- 12846230
UI  - 22728265
OWN - NLM
STAT- completed ...

We anticipate switching the MUID and PMID fields on September 2, 2003.
