[C++ Toolkit ANNOUNCE] Asnval & cleanasn to be retired September 30th

Asnval and cleanasn, which both use the C Toolkit, will be retired September 30, 2016. Both tools will be replaced with versions that use the C++ Toolkit, asnvalidate and asn_cleanup. If you have not already done so, please make plans to switch to using the C++ versions of these tools.
We have automated regression tests set up to compare the results of the C and C++ versions to ensure the new versions produce accurate results. Our tests currently show the C++ versions to provide comparable or better results for the test cases that we have included. If there are any additional critical functions that need to be included in the C++ version of these tools, please contact maryann.nelson at nih.gov<mailto:maryann.nelson at nih.gov>.
