Summary of Use during Lactation
No information is available on the use of givinostat during breastfeeding. Because it is 96% bound to human plasma proteins, amounts in milk are likely to be very low. If a mother requires givinostat, it is not a reason to discontinue breastfeeding. Until more data become available, givinostat should be used with caution during breastfeeding, especially while nursing a newborn or preterm infant. Monitor the breastfed infant for diarrhea, vomiting, bruising, excessive bleeding from cuts, and blood in the stool.
