Hadley, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and the nation’s leader in distance learning for people with vision loss, has partnered with the National Eye Institute (NEI) to offer online tutorials in Spanish through Hadley’s online learning hub, Hadley.edu. Built on many months of research and based on the needs and wants of people with vision impairments, the platform is available to access at no cost.

“NEI is working to foster inclusiveness and accessibility in all our activities,” said NEI Director Michael F. Chiang, M.D. “We are pleased to partner with Hadley in adding Spanish-language resources to their site for people with vision impairment.”
Under the new partnership, Hadley launched a Spanish-language version of its popular cooking series, which includes Kitchen Safety Basics, Using Sharp Knives, How to Check If Something Is Fully Cooked, Using a Stovetop and Oven, and Pouring Hot and Cold Liquids.
In this pilot stage, Hadley and the NEI will closely monitor usage of these new Spanish-language workshops and expand offerings as needed. People who register for the Spanish-speaking series will be alerted as more content or other resources become available in Spanish in the future. All registrants will gain full access to all of Hadley’s existing resources in English.
