Introduction
In this study we used RNA-seq to identify the expression profile of banana plantules in response to two distinct species of plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria, Pseudomonas fluorescens PS006 and Bacillus amyloliquefaciens BS006, in three post-inoculation times: 1 h, 48 h, and 96 h. We investigated differential gene expression for the treatment with the two rhizobacteria.
Gene Ontology enrichment analysis have showed that some categories have similar genes expressed in the two rhizobacteria, despite of and earlier response triggered in Pseudomonas (48 h) compared to Bacillus (96). In addition, Pseudomonas and Bacillus also trigger distinct responses, as such as cellular proliferation for the former and production of energy for the latter. Based on our findings we suggest the application of both rhizobacteria as inoculants since they have complementary effects on the plant response.

Effect of PGPR on banana growth
The effect of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens and Pseudomonas fluorescens inoculation on plant growth was investigated in banana plantules. Eight variables were evaluated in plantules 55 days old: height (cm), leaf area (cm2), pseudostem tickness (mm), total fresh weight (g/plant), root fresh weight (g/plant), shoot fresh weight (g/plant), total dry weight (g/plant), and shoot dry weight (g/plant).

All variables were significantly higher in samples inoculated with B. amyloliquefaciens or P. fluorescens compared to the control (no PGPR inoculated).
