<h2><a name="head1">AHRQ issues call for abstracts on patient safety research </a></h2>
<p>The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality and the Department of Defense are cosponsoring a collection of papers to be published in fall 2004. The collection, which will be titled <em>Advances in Patient Safety: From Research to Implementation</em>, will feature papers (up to 4,500 words each) that highlight the research findings, methodological perspectives, implementation issues, and tools and products stemming from recent federally funded patient safety research. </p>
<p>AHRQ and DOD have issued a call for abstracts to be considered for this project. The deadline for abstract submission is December 16, 2003. The call for abstracts can be obtained from Suzanne Streagle, Patient Safety Research Coordinating Center (<a href="mailto:suzannestreagle@westat.com">suzannestreagle@westat.com</a>). </p>
