Comments
Trauma centers treat both adults and children. Designation of trauma center levels I, II, and III is based on criteria developed by the American College of Surgeons' Committee on Trauma (ACS/COT). In the 2006-2010 NEDS, a collapsed stratification of levels I and II or levels I, II, and III was employed. Injury severity score is assigned by ICDPIC Stata program, with ranges from 1 to 75 (with 75 being the most severe). Values of 99 mean severity of injury could not be determined.
